Orange County Register Using Twitter for Fire Coverage

The Orange County Register is using a Twitter feed to provide reports by people in Orange County about the huge fire there.

That's interesting. I haven't heard that the Orange County Register is using Twitter for fire reports. It is a pretty good idea, but I live in Orange County and I have not heard anything about the service. I can't see it helping anyone unless they are actively marketing the information.

Mat -

The Register launched this back in November 2008 when covering the major fires that hit the area then. I don't know how they tried to get the word out about their Twitter feed at the time.
