KDMC Alumna Launches Online Tech Magazine.
Early this month KDMC alumna Wendy Norris (Jan '10) launched Tekhne, an online magazine covering Colorado’s growing start-up community. Norris, both a Knight Digital Media Center (UC Berkeley) fellow of 2010 and a John S. Knight Journalism (Stanford) fellow of 2011 seeks to reinvent the niche news publication business model as well as the storytelling process.
Inspired by her serendipitous conversation with Boulder-based investors David Cohen and Brad Feld during a book signing in Palo Alto, Norris tasked herself with the creation of a venue to address Colorado burgeoning start-up scene. 10 weeks later Tekhne was launched.
“Tekhne” in Classical Greek mythology embodies the muse of the entrepreneur. Similarly, Norris’ mission is to educate the community about Colorado’ s start-ups, technology, and trends and be the “catalyst for inspiring stories and practical knowledge that drives innovation.”
Tekhne’s tightly focused niche-news model serves a specific, interested and growing entrepreneurial audience in Colorado. For more information visit Tekhne.
