About Daniel Vasquez

VASQUEZ, DANIEL is a consumer columnist at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale. His award-winning column often crosses different sections of the newspaper, with topics ranging from the iPhone and protecting against fraud to family issues. Prior to joining the Sun-Sentinel in 2006, Vasquez was an editorial writer at the San Jose Mercury News and one of two main writers of a yearlong series that became a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2005. Vasquez spent many years as a criminal justice reporter at the Mercury News, The Boston Globe and the Oakland Tribune. He is a native of San Jose, CA, where he studied journalism at San Jose State University. Vasquez spends his free time exploring the world with his 3-year-old son, Danny, and wife, Anne, also a journalist. He’s also the proud father of a 6-year-old beagle, named Chico.
