About Heather Charles

Heather Charles is a multimedia photojournalist at The Indianapolis Star the largest paper in Indiana. Charles is a native of Baltimore, MD and graduated with a degree in Visual Communication from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 2003. Before The Indianapolis Star she worked at the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, NY. She has interned at the Marietta (Ohio) Times, The Newport News Daily Press, The Orlando Sentinel, The South Bend Tribune and the Minneapolis Star Tribune. She is the Communications Chairperson in the Visual Task Force of the National Association of Black Journalists. She enjoys traveling, cooking and appeasing her addiction for the Travel Channel and The Learning Channel.
