About Julie Drizin

DRIZIN, JULIE is the Talent Manager for the public radio makers quest (MQ2), a project of the Association of Independents in Radio, Inc. (AIR). Her public radio career began in 1985, when she landed a “temporary” job as News & Public Affairs Director at WXPN in Philadelphia, Pa. Six years later, she moved to Washington D.C. to become News Director and, subsequently, National Bureau Chief for Pacifica Radio. She managed a dozen staff in three cities, edited hundreds of news stories, produced and anchored live national specials, and launched the popular “Democracy Now!” Julie was founding Senior Producer of NPR’s “Justice Talking,” a program of debates on constitutional issues. As Assistant Director at J-Lab: The Institute for Interactive Journalism, she helped manage the New Voices citizen news project, New Media Women Entrepreneurs initiative, and Knight-Batten Awards for Innovations in Journalism. She is the mother of two school-age daughters.
