About Lois Breedlove


BREEDLOVE, LOIS is the chair of the Communication Department at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, WA. She is responsible for the leadership of a department that includes communication studies, public relations, film and video studies and journalism. Journalism has three specializations: print, online, and broadcast. The department is developing convergence media themes across journalism as well as public relations. Her own background is in print journalism, with experience doing Web design during the late 1990s as a freelancer. She has her bachelor’s degree from Oregon State University, and a master’s degree at American University in Washington, D.C. She enjoys traveling abroad, and has been to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, explored Eastern Europe, and presented scholarship in Cuba. She owns a small farm outside of town, where she has two horses, three dogs, and more gardening than she can really handle.
