About Laura Petrecca
PETRECCA, LAURA is a business reporter at USA Today. She covers entrepreneurs, workplace issues, advertising and marketing from the paper’s New York City bureau. Prior to joining USA Today in 2005, Laura was the Sunday business editor at the New York Post. Earlier in her career, Laura was a senior editor and writer for the health magazine Prevention and a senior editor and reporter at Advertising Age. She got her professional journalism start as a USA Today news assistant in 1993. Laura grew up in Wayne, NJ, and has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland and a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University. She was one of ten journalists selected for Columbia’s Knight-Bagehot Fellowship in Economics and Business Journalism for 2001-2002. In May 2011, she completed the Knight Digital Media Center multimedia reporting and convergence workshop.
