About Mediha Dimartino
DiMartino, Mediha is a general assignment reporter and photographer at the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin in Ontario, CA. DiMartino fell in love with photojournalism while watching photographers at the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in her native town Sarajevo, Bosnia. Ensuing civil war and heart-wrenching images that poured out of the besieged city helped her understand the power and importance of journalism. DiMartino graduated with degrees in photojournalism and English literature from Cal State Long Beach and started her career as a photographer at Los Angeles Times’ community news. Eight years later while at her current paper,  DiMartino started dabbling into video and writing, but never thought she would enjoy them as much as photography. These days she considers herself a storyteller with a bag of tools to use as she sees fit.
