About Paiching Wei
Wei, Paichin (Pai) is the graphics director for the San Jose Mercury News with a circulation of 230,000. Pai oversees the information graphics at the Merc’s print and online products. Previously, he was the art director for Knight Ridder-Tribune Interactive, which created interactive news packages using Flash. An explorer at heart, he enjoyed his many stints across the country. He worked briefly at the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Virginian-Pilot, Sacramento Bee and the San Francisco Chronicle. And when he is not traveling, Pai enjoys cycling and swimming. However, these days, Pai spends more time potty training and playing with his 2.5-year old daughter than doing his hobbies.
