About Kurt Achin

Kurt Achin is the Seoul Correspondent and Bureau Chief for Voice of America News. VOA, a multimedia international broadcasting service funded by the U.S. Government through the Broadcasting Board of Governors, first went on the air in 1942. VOA broadcasts approximately 1,500 hours of news, information, educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated worldwide audience of 134 million people. Achin is a native of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. Prior to working with VOA, he was a Hong Kong and Atlanta-based producer for CNN. He files frequent radio, video and internet stories on Korean peninsula issues of global interest. He's a frustrated chef and Korean language student who enjoys blogs and mountain hiking.
