Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
HOYER, MEGHAN spent nearly five years covering city government before becoming the urban enterprise reporter at The Virginian-Pilot in January. She writes mainly about housing and development issues, with an emphasis on computer-assisted reporting. Hoyer grew up outside of Hartford, CT, graduated from Northwestern University in 1998, and worked at the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and The Louisville Courier-Journal before arriving in Norfolk, VA, in 2003. She is currently working toward a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative nonfiction writing from Old Dominion University, and when she’s not reading books or writing essays for that, she’s busy training for her first triathlon.
