About Adrienne Ward Fawcett
Fawcett, Adrienne is founder and editor of GazeboNews.com, a news website covering Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, IL, on the tip of Chicago’s North Shore. After graduating from Indiana University’s School of Journalism a long time ago, she started her career writing obituaries for a small newspaper in Indiana, moved to Middletown, N.Y. to work as a copy editor for The Record, and later was features editor for Advertising Age magazine in Chicago. She also has as done a lot of freelance writing, mothering, volunteer work, and home renovating, including the total restoration of her present house, a 1928 Dutch colonial, which won a “Distinguished Home” award from the Vliet Center of Lake Bluff History in 2008. She is married and has three children.
After many years in print media, Adrienne saw the internet as an opportunity to create an interactive news delivery service that operates like a town square, where readers can share information, express opinions, buy products and services from local merchants, and learn about news soon after the news has happened. She named the website GazeboNews because four of the towns she has lived in have gazebos in their town squares.
