HORD, ALISHA is an online sports producer for Charlotte.com, the online division of The Charlotte Observer. Her responsibilities include maintaining all sports channels, following breaking news, planning special projects surrounding big local sports events, updating the site for day-to-day content and working as a liaison between the Observer's Sports Department and the online staff. Hord is a native of Raleigh, NC, and graduated with a degree in communication studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Her first stint in newspapers came as a sports agate clerk for three years at The Charlotte Observer, followed up with her first full-time job as a sports copy editor and designer at The Rock Hill Herald. She has also worked at Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal and The Sports Business Daily. Hord writes a relationships and sex blog for Charlotte.com, called "We Can Relate." She enjoys watching college basketball, playing volleyball and spending too much time on the Internet.
