Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
RIMMER, ADDIE M. is associate professor of professional practice at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She teaches reporting and writing and advises the students who produce The Bronx Beat, a 6,000-circulation community newspaper. Rimmer, a native New Yorker, graduated from the City College of New York and the Journalism School. Her first journalism job was as a reporter at Commodity News Services. She joined The Miami Herald copy desk after graduating from the Maynard Institute’s Editing Program. After several editing jobs at The Wall Street Journal, she taught at the University of Arizona, Tucson. During ten years with Knight Ridder, she was assistant managing editor at the Press-Telegram in Long Beach, CA; editor of The News in Boca Raton, FL; executive editor of the Daily Camera in Boulder, CO; and deputy managing editor/news, at the Detroit Free Press. She is a doctoral student at Teacher’s College and teaches in the Editing Program.
