About Andrew Golis

GOLIS, ANDREW is the editor of blogging at Yahoo News. He’s just begun the process of building a network of reporting and aggregation blogs for the biggest news audience in the United States. Before that, he spent three years helping to build the political website TalkingPointsMemo. As deputy publisher, Andrew was in charge of audience growth and engagement, business development and technology. As an associate editor, he managed special projects and ran the discussion site TPMCafe. Naming TPM one of the best blogs of 2009, Time Magazine called it “the prototype of what a successful Web-based news organization is likely to be in the future.” He speaks at conferences and universities about digital journalism and new business models. Those venues have included: the Columbia Journalism School, NewsXchange, and YearlyKos. He also does consulting focused on the same issues. Andrew graduated from Harvard University with a degree in American political history. He was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. He lives in New York City with his wife, feminist author and blogger Jessica Valenti, and their cat and dog.
