About William Johnson

JOHNSON, WILLIAM is currently the Convergence Editor for the Bucks County Courier Times. He has held this position since 2006 and is responsible for turning the newsroom into a 24-7 multimedia news source. He produces, edits and designs multimedia for the web and supervises the newsroom bloggers. The Courier’s web stories now have added-content with web links, photos, and slideshows with sound and video reports. The Courier has several newsroom bloggers and the photo department is shooting video as well as still images. Prior to this position, Johnson was the Lead Photographer, for the Courier Times Photo Department and had held that position since 1978. Johnson spearheaded the transition to a totally digital department. Throughout his career Johnson has won more than 100 national, regional and state awards including the 1988 Sporting News Sports Action Photo of the year and 1997 Keystone State Distinguished Visual award. He is the founder and Webmaster of the j-pouch group web site - it is the number one site on the internet to provide support and information for specific kinds of surgery. Johnson grew up in Southampton, PA. He went to Middle Bucks Technical School, Bucks County Community College and Tyler School of Art and studied fine art and commercial art.
