Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
JOHN BURR is assistant managing editor at The Florida Times-Union. He is responsible for the newsroom's news partnership with WTLV-12 and WJXT-25, as well as planning news strategy for Jacksonville.com, the Times-Union's web site. He also established and coordinates the newsroom training program. In his nearly 15 years at the Times-Union, Burr held the positions of Florida editor, assistant metro editor, community news editor, metro editor, metro news editor and business editor. Prior to joining the Times-Union, he was a reporter for the St. Petersburg (FL) Times. Burr has achieved several honors in his journalism career including most recently an award from the Florida Press Club (1999) for coordination of the special section, Portraits of Our Past, a historical look at Jacksonville in the 20th Century. Burr has a Bachelor's degree in journalism from New York University.
