About Christen Gowan
GOWAN, CHRISTEN is a reporter working for the Albany Times Union, an 80,000-circulation newspaper serving New York’s Capital Region. Her responsibilities include breaking news and other stories and shooting video for timesunion.com. Gowan was named the newspaper’s first-ever mobile journalist in August 2008, providing a video component to stories such the inauguration of Governor David Paterson, the funeral of a Muslim U.S. Army soldier who died while fighting in Afghanistan and life at Saratoga Race Course, a world-class destination for thoroughbred racing. Gowan came to the Times Union after graduating from the University at Albany in 2004. She enjoys reading, cooking for family and friends and spending long, summer weekends at Webb Lake in Maine. She lives in Saratoga Springs with her husband Trevor and dog Sadie.
