About Carol Hanner
HANNER, CAROL has been projects editor at the Rocky Mountain News since 2002, overseeing long-term investigative and narrative series, and for several months in late 2005, she oversaw the web site while the interactive editor focused on installing a redesign of RockyMountainNews.com. She previously worked as managing editor at Phoenix New Times, managing editor of The State newspaper in Columbia, S.C., assistant managing editor/projects at the Lexington Herald-Leader (Ky.), managing editor of the New Haven Register (Ct.), reporter and various editing positions at the Rocky in an earlier tenure there and reporter and various editing positions at the Winston-Salem Journal (N.C.). She's a native of North Carolina and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a journalism degree and an addiction to Tar Heel basketball. She spent a year in Ann Arbor as the Mike Wallace Fellow in Investigating Reporting in the Michigan Journalism Fellows. She and her husband enjoy all things Colorado - hiking, skiing, snowshoeing and triathlons.
