About Chris Young

YOUNG, CHRIS is a multimedia reporter at the Richmond Times-Dispatch, a 205,000 circulation paper in Virginia’s capital city. He shoots, produces and edits video stories for timesdispatch.com. He also contributes occasional ink for the paper. Young’s first reporting gig was freelancing for a paper in Santa Monica for about the same rate as his college paper at UCLA. He then left his home state of California and worked at The Bulletin in Bend, OR, interned at the Chicago Tribune and South Florida Sun-Sentinel, then covered local government for about two years at Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers in Stuart, FL. He is glad to be back at North Gate Hall for the Knight workshop, where he graduated with a master’s degree in journalism in 2005. He is an occasional tenor sax player, when he finds the discipline to practice.
