About Carolina Nunez

NUÑEZ, CAROLINA is the 11 p.m. news producer for KMEX Channel 34 Univision, Los Angeles. She is in charge of preparing the list of news stories (rundown) and coordinating all the visual materials for integration within the news program format. She’s responsible for story selection and supervises reporters, anchors, editors and the graphics department for scripting, production and timing. Born in Bogotá, Colombia she came to Miami, FL, in 1998 from Caracas, Venezuela where she grew up and was working for Editorial Exceso. There she wrote for three magazines featuring investigative reporting, travel and food. During her three years in Miami she got started writing, producing and sometimes broadcasting for Radio Caracol, she later moved to Radio Unica. This was the first national talk radio network “en español” where she was producer of a three hour long morning-drive live show in which she was in charge of the selection of the topic of the day to open the phone lines to listeners opinion’s and booking of personality and news-relevant interviews. She and her husband later moved to California where in 2002 she started working in KSTS Telemundo Channel 48 in the San Francisco Bay Area where she produced the 6 p.m. local newscast for three years. She now commutes on weekends from Los Angeles to the San Francisco Bay Area to be with her husband, and has grown to appreciate life on the I-5.
