About Crystal Davis

DAVIS, CRYSTAL is the night editor for the McClatchy Washington Bureau, responsible for assigning and editing coverage of late-breaking stories in the United States and overseas. She also oversees the bureau’s science and good-news beats, and she helps edit the bureau’s Web site. Before joining the bureau in 2003, Davis worked at The Washington Post as a copy editor and layout editor. She spent five years with Knight Ridder, first as an assistant business news editor for Knight Ridder Tribune and later as a copy editor at the Detroit Free Press, where she also did a stint as the Travel editor. She also has worked at the political newspaper Roll Call and at the Roanoke Times and was a copy editing fellow for the Dow Jones Newspaper Fund and for the National Association of Black Journalists. She is a member of the Online News Association, the National Association of Black Journalists and the International Webmasters Association. Davis is a native of the Washington, DC, area and is a graduate of Howard University.
