About David Barton
BARTON, DAVID WATTS is the editor in chief of sacramentopress.com, a hybrid pro-am website covering Sacramento’s central city. He is responsible for guiding SacPress’s newsroom, representing the site in the community and planning the site’s long-term editorial mission. A Sacramento native, Barton covered the city for 25 years at The Sacramento Bee, as critic, columnist and feature writer. After leaving The Bee, he re-established himself with a blog, and in city magazines Sacramento and Sactown. He also covered state and federal court as a legal stringer for Bloomberg L.P. In addition, Barton branched out into radio, landing a role as regular substitute host for the Fresh Air-styled live interview show Insight on NPR-affiliate Capital Public Radio. Barton also writes and plays music, having released one CD, and is an avid hiker, biker and dancer.
