About Dan Medeiros
MEDEIROS, DAN is a copy editor at The Patriot Ledger, a 55,000-circulation afternoon newspaper serving the South Shore of Massachusetts, an area comprising 26 cities and towns just south of Boston and stretching to Cape Cod. His daily responsibilities include the editing and layout of Page One, supervision of the copy desk, and publication to The Patriot Ledger’s website. From 1998 to 2004, Dan was a copy editor at The Herald News in Fall River, MA, and was the executive city editor from 2004 to 2006. He was an award-winning humor columnist for The Herald News for four years, was recognized by the New England Press Association for his front-page designs and for creating The Point, a weekly serving the Fall River suburbs. Dan earned an MFA from Emerson College in Boston, where he studied literature, fiction writing, and screenwriting. He has published several short stories in literary magazines, and with his wife he creates a weekly audio podcast, 4 Feet Running, focusing on running, fitness, and chat. He enjoys writing, reading, film, photography, and music. His humor columns and other writings are archived at blackfonzie.blogspot.com.
