About Emma Carew
CAREW, EMMA is a digital producer on the homepage of startribune.com at the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the largest daily news source in Minnesota. Her duties include editing stories and packages for the homepage, working to boost the paper's social media presence and training staff in web skills, ranging from tweeting to Facebook privacy. Carew grew up in the suburbs of Minneapolis and attending college at the University of Minnesota, studying journalism and art history. She spent a year in Washington, D.C. first as an intern at the Washington Post and the Chronicle of Higher Education, then landed her first job at The Chronicle of Philanthropy. Carew returned to Minneapolis last summer as a local news reporter at the Star Tribune, then moved to the web team in January. She is the local co-president of the Asian American Journalists Association and enjoys cooking and baking.
