ORTIZ, EDWARD is currently working as staff arts critic for the Sacramento Bee newspaper. He covers and critiques classical music and opera in Sacramento and Northern California, while writing trend and news stories on the arts. He has worked as an environment reporter for the Providence Journal and as general assignment reporter for the Boston Globe. An MFA graduate of New York University's Dramatic Writing program, Ortiz is also a screenwriter and a produced playwright. He lives in Sacramento with his wife, Melissa, and son, Pablo.
