ROBBIE EVANS is a senior writer for The News-Star in Monroe, LA, specializing in government reporting and civic-mapping. He started with the News-Star in 1993 as a reporter in the paper’s Delta Parish, then moved onto covering parish government in West Monroe and Ouachita, before moving into his current city hall and local politics beat. He has received numerous awards for reporting and writing from such organizations as the Louisiana Press Association, the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Managing Editors Association and the Education Writer’s Association.
