About Evelyn Nieves

Evelyn Nieves is a reporter for the Associated Press based in San Francisco, where her focus is on foreclosures and the consequences of the economy on people's lives. She has been a reporter, San Francisco Bureau Chief and metro columnist for the New York Times, where she worked from 1990-2003. She also worked as a national political correspondent for the Washington Post, where she was part of the 2004 presidential campaign team. She wants desperately to learn how to shoot and edit video, not just because it complements a printed report and because it will be an essential tool for journalists within the next few years, but also because it sure looks like fun.
