ZAMORA, ERIC is a photographer at The Fresno Bee, a 160,000-circulation daily newspaper, part of the McClatchy Newspaper chain in California’s San Joaquin Valley. Zamora first studied architecture at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo but fell into journalism quite by accident. He shelved all plans for an architecture career, working his way up from reporter to editor at college newspapers, then the first photographer at McClatchy’s new bilingual weekly Vida en el Valle. Zamora began working for the Associated Press and as a freelancer after Vida. He also worked as a part-time, on-call photographer for the Bee which led to a bureau position, thereby cementing the sentence. As a full-time Bee photographer, the Fresno-native covers all types of stories with photography including multimedia coverage, first with slideshows and now video using tools including his new iPhone. When not working Zamora rocks out on Sierra streams flyfishing for wily trout.

Stories

Digital media stories published elsewhere by Eric Zamora:

  • The musicman's birthday [edit]
I was sent to the city's minor league baseball stadium, a farm for the San Francisco Giants where the World Series trophy was being displayed for the public. I wasn't prepared to shoot video but finding a unique character playing music to the waiting crowd, I whipped out the new iPhone and shot some video, editing in Final Cut Pro. I was nearing the end of my shift so it was a quick edit but worked fine. Wait for the end. -eric
