GLOWACZ, DAVE, who lives in Chicago, began working as an independent journalist in the early 1990s, writing for all of the Chicago area's major newspapers and for national magazines. His articles covered new technology, environment, telecommunications, law enforcement, and elections. In 1998 Glowacz authored a non-fiction paperback titled Urban Bikers’ Tricks & Tips, which in 2010 came out in a revised third edition and has sold over 20,000 copies worldwide. Glowacz has also authored award-winning bicycling safety material for state and local governments across North America. In 2007 Glowacz focused his journalism on government accountability and expanded his reporting to broadcast media. His radio reports have aired on public and commercial radio stations across the U.S., and his work regularly appears on-line at mrradio.org and chigov.com. He enjoys playing, singing, and writing music, and he rode his bicycle to this workshop.
