About Gretchen Macchiarella
Gretchen Macchiarella, (pronounced Mak-er-ella) is the webcast producer for Studio 805 at The Ventura County Star. She was previously the Star’s assistant business editor. After multimedia training in 2006, she started a weekday online newscast. She recently changed the site to be out of the studio and in the community covering fun place to be, events, hobbies, groups and some cute puppies. Macchiarella graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara and after a short stint in Northern California came back to the Central Coast. She now lives in Ventura with her husband, and owns a small house and large dog.
