About Stephanie Hughes

Stephanie Hughes's avatar image HUGHES, STEPHANIE is a producer for "Maryland Morning," a daily local public affairs and culture show that airs on WYPR, the NPR affiliate in Baltimore. The show covers all of the state and reaches over 200,000 listeners in any given month. Hughes generates story ideas, writes scripts, and edits audio. She also creates sound-rich reported pieces, both for “Maryland Morning,” and for national outlets including "Marketplace," "Living on Earth," New Hampshire Public Radio’s “Word of Mouth,” and WYPR's "The Signal.” She’s interested in crowdsourcing, data visualization, and user-generated content and how they can be used to create good journalism both on air and online. Her reported stories tend to focus on issues dealing with sustainability and the environment.
