About John Berry
BERRY, JOHN is the online editor for The Times Herald, a daily newspaper and website in Montgomery County, PA which covers parts of suburban Philadelphia. He is responsible for managing, organizing and producing traditional and multimedia content for the Herald’s website and social media presences. Starting at The Times Herald in 2000 as a photographer, Berry was promoted to online editor in 2007 when the position was created. The website, formerly produced by a couple of staffers well after print deadline, is now operated by the constant effort of everyone and is maintained first, before print pages. Berry has developed targeted online features to create partnerships within the community and further enhance the publication’s hyper-local direction. With this emphasis on web, monthly page views have grown by more than 370%. Berry also writes a blog and weekly vegetarian recipe column called “Lazy Herbivore”.
