About Jerry Casey
CASEY, JERRY is the online innovation editor for The Oregonian, a 300,000-circulation newspaper in Portland. He spreads the gospel of online coverage to the newsroom masses. In concert with the daily newspaper report and continuing projects, Jerry helps oversee the paper’s changing online tools and content, which is published on www.oregonlive.com. In addition to overseeing a team of technical online specialists, Jerry develops new subject-specific and community-specific online sites. Before moving to Oregon in 1999, Jerry worked at the St. Petersburg Times, Florida Trend magazine and the Newport News Daily Press. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri. In his copious spare time, he tries to keep up with his grade-school-age kids – working 1,000-piece puzzles, reading Harry Potter books and attending karate belt tests.
