About Jamie Gumbrecht

GUMBRECHT, JAMIE is a lifestyles reporter at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She reports general assignment stories in a feature-y way for the newspaper, AJC.com and her blog, “The Newcomer.” She worked for three years at the Lexington Herald-Leader in Lexington, KY, where she covered pop culture and blogged at itsallabout.typepad.com. She also spent six weeks in Iraq reporting for the McClatchy chain. Gumbrecht grew up outside Detroit and graduated from Michigan State University in 2004 with a degree in journalism and Latin American and Caribbean studies. She interned at the Lansing State Journal, the Detroit Free Press, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Dallas Morning News before moving to Lexington in 2005.
