About Jill Bennett

BENNETT, JILL hosts the “Weekend Morning News” on CKNW980, Vancouver’s number one news/talk radio station. She interviews politicians, Olympic athletes, and regular people every weekend. One of Bennett’s first radio assignments was to follow Rick Hansen as he retraced his International Man in Motion tour. An important lesson was learned that day; chasing an athlete up a mountain while reporting live isn’t easy. Bennett was also a TV news anchor at City TV in Vancouver and a reporter at CTV, a national broadcaster. Bennett is a travel addict and leaves the country as often as possible. She taught journalism in Rwanda in 2007 and has also traveled to Banda Aceh, Indonesia on an international development grant to report on rebuilding after the tsunami. Bennett recently rediscovered her love of dogs and now volunteers at the Vancouver Animal Shelter where she is a friend to all strays. Even the Chihuahuas.
