About Jaclyn Giovis
GIOVIS, JACLYN covers retail and consumer trends as a business reporter for the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale. Since joining the newspaper in November 2005, she has reported breaking news, and has pursued enterprise stories as well as in-depth projects on retail crime and mall security. Giovis has expanded her storytelling in the past year by producing Web videos that complement her print stories. As part the Sun-Sentinel’s newsroom expansion, she was recently issued her own Sony SR7 High Definition video camera and is now shooting her own Web packages. Previously, Giovis was a business reporter at two Ohio newspapers, the Dayton Daily News and the Journal-News in Hamilton, and freelanced for The Cincinnati Enquirer. She has a dual bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science with a minor in Spanish from Miami University in Oxford, OH.
