About Jim Randle

RANDLE, JIM is the economics editor for the Voice of America (VOA), a global multimedia organization that reaches about 125 million people each week around the world in 45 languages on the web, radio, and television. Randle has been writing about the global financial meltdown for the past couple of years. Earlier he filed stories from North Korea, South Africa, and dozens of other nations, including Iraq. Jim was VOA's Beijing Bureau Chief, an anchor, producer, and Pentagon Correspondent. Before VOA, Jim worked for several news organizations, including CNN in Washington, and WMAQ, an all-news radio station in Chicago. Jim has a master's degree from Syracuse University, and briefly taught journalism in Ukraine. He and his wife Joyce have a son and a daughter. Jim is probably the only VOA correspondent born on a foreign assignment. Jim arrived while his father was an officer on a transmitter ship that broadcast "The Voice" from a homeport in Greece.
