About Vanessa Kaneshiro

Vanessa Kaneshiro graduated with a master's degree from the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism in 2003. She worked on documentaries as an intern with MTV News and Documentary in New York in 2002, and as an assistant producer at KCTS/PBS Seattle Television in 2001. She was a freelance reporter for KPLU/NPR Seattle Radio in 2001, responsible for spot-reporting, usually during the morning edition. She did extensive research for senior reporters and information for daily broadcast and feature pieces. She also was arts content manager, for r s l interactive where she wrote feature articles for the arts section of a Web site, coordinated with event planners and directors, conducted extensive internet searches, gathered and manipulated digital photo and worked closely with programmers to discuss layout, content, grammar. She received a BA from the University of Washington in english and in psychoglogy in 1999.
