Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
KIMBALL, KATHARINE is a bilingual (Spanish/English) staff photographer at the Albuquerque Journal, a 100,000-circulation newspaper that covers New Mexico. Her responsibilities primarily focus on generating and documenting stories that focus on Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico. She has also covered statewide issues including cockfighting, returning Iraqi war veterans, Muslims living in New Mexico, and Native American education. She has interned as a photographer for the Riverside Press-Enterprise, the Santa Fe New Mexican, and the Tri-City Herald of Washington. Ms. Kimball is a graduate from the University of Missouri Graduate School of Journalism specializing in photojournalism and has a bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Vermont. Prior to beginning her career as a photojournalist, Kimball was a Spanish teacher and a Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic. When she is not looking at life through her lens, she is traveling, eating sushi or training for her first half-marathon.
