About Kimberly Hefling
HEFLING, KIMBERLY is the Pennsylvania regional reporter for The Associated Press in Washington, DC. She writes about all aspects of Pennsylvania politics, with an emphasis on the state's 21-member congressional delegation. She also writes extensively about veterans’ issues and military families. Hefling is a native of Wichita, KS, and graduated with a degree in journalism from Kansas State University. Her first journalism job was as the AP's editorial assistant in Louisville, KY. Her AP career has taken her from the mountains of Appalachia to Iraq, where she was an embedded reporter with the 101st Airborne Division during the 2003 invasion. She enjoys playing tennis, bicycling, traveling, and reading.
