About Kathryn Martin Sosbe
SOSBE, KATHRYN joined thousands of other career journalists who found themselves out of work through newspaper downsizing. She edited online, breaking news and features at the Idaho Statesman, a 61,000 daily/83,000 Sunday printed newspaper. In January 2010, she began work as a public affairs specialist with the USDA Forest Service Washington, D.C., Office. Sosbe is a native of Evansville, IN, where she worked for the Courier as a copy “girl” and served as the Teen Page reporter and teen editor. After an eight-year stint in the military, she worked for the Colorado Springs Gazette for 18 years, including as a metro reporter, assistant city editor, training and development editor and home and garden editor. She was an assistant city editor at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, working in the Palm Beach County bureau during the 2000 Presidential Elections. She enjoys listening to music, reading, camping, learning American Sign Language and making jewelry.
