About Ken Rosenthal

ROSENTHAL, KEN is the editorial department desk editor at The Seattle Times, a 220,000-circulation (420,000 Sunday) newspaper that covers the Greater Puget Sound region. He coordinates the production of the daily and Sunday opinion pages of The Times, collaborating on content decisions and designing the pages. He also functions as the wordsmith for the department, doing primary editing on syndicated pieces and final editing on all copy. Born on the East Coast (Connecticut), raised on the West Coast (Southern California), Rosenthal graduated with a degree in literature from Claremont McKenna College. His first newspaper job was in Longview, WA, where he worked as a reporter and assistant city editor. He has held a variety of editing posts at The Times since 1983. He enjoys baseball, travel, cooking, camping, golf and chasing after a couple of frisky grandsons.
