About Lee Dean
Lee Svitak Dean is the longtime food editor at the Star Tribune in Minneapolis. She is the author of "Come One, Come All/ Easy Entertaining With Seasonal Menus," published by the Minnesota Historical Society Press, which is a compilation of essays and recipes from the Taste food section. In addition, she produces nutrition-related posters for middle- and high-school-age kids (leedeanbooks.com/posters). Her work at the Star Tribune has won numerous awards and recognition, from "best section nationally" by the James Beard Foundation and Association of Food Journalists to "top 10 food sections in world" from the World Media Awards. Saveur magazine named her one of five newspaper food editors who are "the unsung saviors of America's food scene" ... who "make locals feel lucky to be eating and cooking in the place where they live" (January 2008). She was part of an Emmy-award winning video in 2010.
