Multimedia and Technology Training At the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism
GRAY, LIZABETH started with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette web team in 2003 as a shoveler; one that shovels over content to the web without any enhancement. Three years later she is producing multimedia presentations for the site which range from covering the Pittsburgh Steelers 2006 season to business developments in China as part of the series, “Wild, Wild East: China.” Prior to joining the web team, she worked as an image tech and part-time photo editor for the Post-Gazette’s print edition for six years interrupted by brief stretch in editorial republication rights and permissions. Her work involved researching the rich past of Pittsburgh’s three major sports teams for film, television and other publications. She designed numerous products from posters to calendars created from the editorial archives of the Post-Gazette and the Pittsburgh Press, which ceased publication in 1994. In a previous life, she was a publican in England and a restaurateur on Spain’s Mediterranean coast before returning to the United States in 1991 to finish her journalism degree at Point Park University. She has three children, one attending the University of Pittsburgh, the second starting at Boston University in the fall and the third, a bass guitarist in a heavy metal band and a fledging film director. She enjoys carpentry, Spanish poetry and any kind of music and dance.
