About Lyn Millner

MILLNER, LYN is starting an undergraduate journalism major at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. Her responsibilities include figuring out what students need to know to be good journalists and consumers of news—and then teaching and learning from them. Already, without a journalism program, her students have worked with the BBC, covered the earthquake in Haiti, improved on-campus media, and, in the case of one young man, covered the drug war in Juarez, Mexico. Before teaching, Millner was a freelance writer and radio producer. These days, she’s researching a hundred-year-old cult in Florida whose members believed they lived inside the earth. Millner has a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing/Nonfiction from Florida International University. She loves reading, exercising and sitting on her back porch.
