About Marcelle Hopkins
HOPKINS, MARCELLE has been a producer for Al Jazeera since November 2007. She covers the United Nations and New York City, producing news and feature stories on international affairs, national elections, economy, courts, science, sports and culture. Before joining Al Jazeera, Marcelle worked with The Documentary Group, which produces documentary films for ABC News, PBS and theatrical release. She was also a reporter for Pacifica radio, and her articles have appeared in the Village Voice, Chicago Tribune and Philadelphia Daily News. Marcelle spent a year in the West Bank where she taught media production to Palestinian refugees. She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
