About Margaret Myers

Margaret Myers has been the features editor at the Amarillo (Texas) Globe-News since joining the staff in 2007. She recently has taken lead of a team of Web producers and the newspaper's social networking programs. She began her career as a photojournalist in Manassas, Virginia. She covered politics and features in Latin America, where she lived for five years and worked as a photographer and editor in Guatemala and Mexico. Although she no longer shoots professionally, the Detroit native keeps a camera handy to capture her spirited encounters in Texas. "Like that time a family of tumbleweed attacked my car," she said. She was a National Endowment for the Arts journalism fellow in 2009 and a diversity fellow for the American Association of Sunday and Features Editors in 2008. Margaret has a degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Michigan and resides in Amarillo.
