About Marilyn Pittman
PITTMAN, MARILYN is an expert on performance, with over three decades of experience as a TV news anchor, talk show host, reporter, commentator, and radio producer. She is a guest lecturer on performance at Berkeley's Journalism School since 1993 and her work training journalists in on-mic and on-camera techniques with kdmcBerkeley began in 2000. A guest lecturer in the radio and video for the web classes at the Graduate School of Journalism for 18 and 10 years respectively, her kdmcBerkeley workshops train journalists in on-camera and on-mic performance. Her work as the leading voice coach for NPR and NPR stations for over 20 years now also includes session on hosting, interviewing, writing, and reporter ‘debriefs.’ Her presentations have been featured at industry conferences for the Public Radio News Directors Inc. (PRNDI), the National Federation of Community Broadcasters, the Radio Television Digital News Association (formerly RTNDA), UNITY, and the Broadcast Education Association. Her years as a stand-up comic, professional narrator (including an Oscar-winning doc, “Deadly Deception”), and radio talk show host help her bring humor, wisdom, and a depth of experience to her clients.
