About Matthew Ralston

Matthew Ralston is on the web task force for The Orange County Register, a 300,000-circulation newspaper that covers Orange County, California. He's responsible for special online projects, which utilize innovative ways to provide information, boost community engagement and improve the overall viewer experience. Essentially, he's part of a team that is responsible for pushing forward the use of technology in the newsroom. Outside of this, he is the web editor for the travel site and contributes to the Features section. Ralston is a native of Seattle, WA where he earned two degrees with Honors and a minor in music from the University of Washington. He's studied abroad in Austria and spent a year teaching English in Zhuhai, China, allowing him to visit 25 countries by the age of 25. He is also an amateur videographer and enjoys surfing, music, and a well-crafted beer.
